Meet the Team

  • Peter Yang | President

Peter is a conductor and arranger who also performs as a double bassist with multiple local ensembles. Since beginning to learn bass in 2011, he has played in orchestral, wind, and string settings. In high school, he was selected for district honor band and performed at Carnegie Hall with his school symphony orchestra. Today, he focuses on reimagining the orchestral experience for modern audiences by curating programs that pair classical repertoire with music people already know and love. His goal is to make the concert hall feel more accessible, engaging, and relevant to a broader community.

Sven Boemer, Trumpet

“I joined RTO because they were looking for trumpet players, and I’m so glad I did! It has been a blast playing everything from Dvořák symphonies to epic Star Wars scores. The last concert included challenging selections from Wicked and West Side Story, with some awesome brass features. Rehearsals are always fun, with a positive, welcoming energy. If you’re looking to make music with a great crowd, come join RTO (especially if you play trumpet)!”

Bryan Reich, Violin

“The experience has been exceptional. The people involved are passionate and give an amazing amount of time and talent to make this group more than I thought was possible. The repertoire selections are challenging and fun, and it has been a joy having a first-row seat to experience some of the amazing hidden musical talents that happen to also be my coworkers.”
